Telespazio amongst the pioneers exhibiting at ILA Berlin and highlighting how Space benefits Earth

21 June 2022

Ministries, agencies, science and aerospace enterprises will all share their innovations and latest sustainability products at the ILA Berlin from June 22 through 26. Telespazio, through Telespazio Germany, will be represented in various areas and stages at this year’s event.

A big highlight at ILA’22 will be the Space Pavilion organised by the European Space Agency (ESA), the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), Telespazio Germany and other German aerospace companies represented by the German Aerospace Industry Association (BDLI).

Telespazio is showcasing its involvement in the Moonlight project and its role a core team member in the Leonardo-led Consortium in charge of the development of ESA’s Cyber Safety and Security Operations Centre (CSOC).

National and international security is becoming ever more dependent on space-based capabilities. Satellites in space are vulnerable assets and while securing them is important, Telespazio Germany focuses on mission operations security, providing operational ICT engineering to institutional customers in space and aviation domain, including ICT security, network communications, and system security monitoring. Telespazio Germany, for more than 30 years,  has delivered professional services and systems worldwide to support customers’ technical training.

Hence, Telespazio Germany’s training solutions experts have their own dedicated booth in the Aviation Hall 4 #153. They will be presenting Telespazio Germany’s newest offerings in training and simulation solutions for the defence and aviation sectors, including the latest enhancement to our products: virtual reality. As an established and recognised partner in the Aerospace industry, Telespazio provides solutions and services that cover almost all domains both in Space and in Air Traffic Control, including UAV, and Management.

At booth #430, in Hall 6, you will not only get to know Telespazio’s Ground Segment end-to-end solutions for the institutional and commercial market players with products like EGS-CC and the EASE product suite, but also our new activities towards an integrated Aerospace.

With the ever-increasing number of missions, launchers and new country entrants in the Space market, it is becoming evident that a vertical integration of services and solutions both for Space and for Aviation is necessary, especially for the monitoring of the space traffic in the mid between the standard air traffic controlled zones and the LEO missions. The need derives from the necessity to acquire more precise flying data, avoid potential collisions between space and aerial vehicles, avoid to overflight forbidden regions and areas within countries, provide better and precise data in areas not covered by ground radars (e.g. oceans).

On Friday, June 24th, Telespazio’s representation will join at #ILA22 with very interesting discussions on 2 different stages. Peter Braun, Product & Sales Manager for Drone Detection at Telespazio Germany, will talk about solutions for activity monitoring of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with Telespazio’s dedicated product DIDIT during his presentation: “Protection against non-cooperative drones” at the Advance Air Mobility Stage in Hall #3APatrick S. Lewis, Telespazio Germany’s Sales Director for SatCom, together with other leading industry experts will be at ILA’22 highlighting the key role of satellite communications as a third space-based layer of connectivity, complementing cable and cell tower infrastructures. During the Digitalisation panel discussion on the Space Stage in Hall #6, they will discuss together with other experts in the field the global challenges Europe is facing within the so-called "Connectivity Initiative", launched by the EU Commissioner for Internal Market and Services Thierry Breton.
