Telespazio and CNIT organize the first CNCG School on Satellite Navigation Systems

17 July 2025

From October 7 to 10, 2025, Telespazio and CNIT – the National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications – will host the first CNCG School on Global Navigation Satellite Systems and Related Technologies at Telespazio’s headquarters in Rome.

The initiative, launched as part of the GNSS National Competence Center and funded by the Italian Space Agency (ASI), is aimed at graduate students, PhD candidates, and early-stage researchers in the fields of Aerospace Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies, and STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Mathematics, Physics).

With a maximum of 30 participants, including 10 spots reserved for Telespazio personnel, the school offers a unique opportunity to explore key technologies related to GNSS systems through a structured program of 7 training modules. Topics will range from the latest application developments to future perspectives in satellite navigation.

The course will be held in English and will grant 4 ECTS credits upon successful completion of a final exam.

A high-level educational program

Over the four-day program, participants will attend lectures delivered by professors and researchers from prestigious Italian universities – including Politecnico di Torino, the University of Pisa, the University of Padua, and Roma Tre University – as well as industry experts and representatives from Telespazio and Qascom. Topics will include:

  • Fundamental principles of positioning and GNSS constellation structures

  • Receiver architecture and signals

  • Performance metrics and augmentation techniques

  • Advanced applications, including lunar scenarios

  • A closing keynote and round table on future perspectives

How to apply

Participation is free of charge. The GNSS National Competence Center will cover registration fees, learning materials, and lunches. Travel and accommodation costs will be borne by the participants.

Please complete the registration form, attaching your CV and a motivation letter by July 30, 2025. Selected candidates will receive confirmation via email by September 15, 2025.
