Lario Space Center: doors open to more than 750 visitors for FAI Spring Days

More than 750 people visited the Lario Space Center in the province of Como on March 26 during FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) Spring Days.

Following the success of 2022, with the extraordinary opening of the Fucino Space Center, Telespazio once again opened one of its teleports during the FAI Spring Days.

This year has been the turn of the Lario Space Center, located in the municipality of Gera Lario not far from the shores of Lake Como, which opened its doors on Sunday 26 March welcomed more than 750 guests who had the opportunity to visit – guided by students of the "Marco Polo" Institute of Higher Education in nearby Colico (Lecco) supported by Telespazio technicians - the control rooms and see the large satellite antennas from inside.

The visit was promoted and organized by FAI's delegation of Como in collaboration with Telespazio.

Built in the seventies, the Lario Space Center is one of the most important Italian teleports with its 50 antennas distributed over an area of 80,000 m2 and offers services for television operators, commercial telecommunications services and is one of the terrestrial stations of the program European Meteosat.
