Today, Telespazio’s "Piero Fanti" Space Center hosted the launch event for EDIHAMO – European Digital Innovation Hub Abruzzo and Molise, a strategic project aimed at advancing digital transformation and technological innovation in central Italy.

The event brought together numerous representatives from institutions and businesses, including Marco Marsilio, President of the Abruzzo Region; Tiziana Magnacca, Regional Minister for Productive Activities, Industrial Research, and Employment of the Abruzzo Region (via video link); and Raffaele Spallone, Director of Division II – Directorate General for Industrial Policy at the Ministry for Business and Made in Italy (via video link). Representatives from Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico also participated, highlighting the importance of public-private collaboration to foster sustainable economic and technological development.

The project EDIHAMO, carried out by the consortium Match 4.0 – Digital Innovation Hub with funding from the Ministry for Business and Made in Italy, aims to strengthen the digital capabilities of the local production sector through advanced services such as artificial intelligence, training on next-generation technologies, and opportunities to test innovative solutions.

For Telespazio, EDIHAMO is an opportunity to leverage the company’s expertise and advanced infrastructure to support digital skill development and foster a more connected and competitive ecosystem.

“For regions like Abruzzo and Molise, digital transformation is a key driver for improving social conditions and strengthening industrial competitiveness on both a national and global scale. Telespazio has embraced the consortium’s proposal to join the EDIHAMO project as a leading technology player, contributing not only our advanced services and technologies, but also the expertise gained from over 60 years of ongoing transformation. The latest of these, the digital transition, has helped consolidate the Fucino Space Center’s position as the world’s most important civil-use facility.”

Alessandra Farese, Senior Vice President Satellite Systems and Operations at Telespazio.

EDIHAMO is a €4.5 million project designed to support businesses and public administration in Abruzzo and Molise, focusing on enhancing digitalization, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. With a strong network of partners, including development agencies, trade associations, and universities, the project offers high-quality services with grants covering up to 100% of costs.
