Telespazio design and implement systems, services and solutions for enhancing the GNSS experience in any operational condition in multiple domains.

Telespazio's capabilities range from National and European GNSS Security, to GNSS Infrastructure. In addition, Telespazio operates also in downstream sectors, such as GNSS Aviation (including UAV), Road and Multimodal, Maritime, Rail.

Upstream solutions

Thanks to its long experience in the field and early involvement in the development of Navigation systems, Telespazio designs several upstream solutions supporting GNSS most challenging performances.

Ionosphere prediction service

Among worldwide Space Weather initiatives, Telespazio has succeeded in the first attempt to provide a prediction service of potential degradation of the GNSS service due to the Space and Ionosphere “weather” in a very user friendly way. Telespazio Ionosphere prediction service features an innovative “TV weather forecast” approach and it provides the nowcasting and forecasting of the behavior of the GNSS receiver up to 24h ahead and the impact of this on the GNSS based applications.

Navigation KPI monitoring service

Telespazio has developed a tool that is able to monitor the performance of the Galileo PRS service in terms of KPI defined by the service provider (GSA). The tool has been successfully provided to SpaceOpal, the Galileo service operator. The tool implements several algorithms to produce periodic reports addressed to GNSS operator and control authority in order to underline eventual anomalies and to identify any issue in the generation and use of navigation data, in order to ease the solution management.

Downstream solutions

Telespazio provides a set of dedicated GNSS applications which support users in several domain, such as General Aviation, Maritime and RPAS.

GAV – GNSS based Airport Vehicles Management

Telespazio GAV solutions is relevant to the new traffic monitoring and control system within the so-called "airport apron" (where aircrafts are parked, refueled, unloaded or loaded and boarded). The solution includes a dedicated GNSS Based Airport Area Service Centre which, using an Augmented Navigation signal, will be able to monitor and control the surface vehicles movements in the apron. Using EGNOS integrity allows geofencing and corridor monitoring, with the purpose to improve performance and operative standards in relations with Efficiency, Safety & Security of Airports.

GAP - GNSS Assisted Port

GAP is Telespazio solution for GNSS assisted navigation within harbor and port management. Its main features consist of the Accuracy improvement (in the port area - with an implementation of reverse RTK position solution and in port approach and restricted waters - through the remote processing of EDAS/EGNOS data) and the provision of situational awareness for CNS (Communications, Navigation and Surveillance) purposes to the port authority (with integration of VTS data).

GAIN - GNSS augmented for Inshore Navigation

GAIN is Telespazio solution for General maritime navigation and navigation along coasts. Its main features are: Accuracy improvement (performance augmentation), Maritime DGNSS station evolution (Generation of EGNOS/EDAS virtual corrections for AIS base stations), Robustness improvement (Monitoring of GNSS performances at area and station level, AIS base station performance monitoring), Verification and qualification of AIS transmitted ship position (anti-fraud purposes and anti spoofing protection).

RMS - RPAS Monitoring and Augmentation Service

RMS is Telespazio solution for RPAS Monitoring and Augmentation Service. The Monitoring Service consists of monitoring of the GNSS signal performance (in relation to predefined areas or fixed stations) and the GNSS monitoring to support the RPAS-Flight system (“validation” of the position received by the remote pilot enhancing his trustiness on the RPAS position). The augmentation service increases the confidence in the RPAS position computation.

Service support infrastructures

Telespazio has a solid knowledge of navigation satellite systems and it has developed support infrastructures to test and monitor GNSS performances.

GIMCS - GNSS Interference Monitor and Control System

GIMCS is a hierarchical system able to collect information (interference related information) from several sensors on the field. The main functions are the detection, classification, localization of jammers. It is a cheap solution (low hardware complexity, extensive software implementation of signal processing), fully automated (low or zero impact on operations), easily deployable on field.

Performance Based Navigation Monitoring Service

Our solution for Performance Based Navigation Monitoring allows the recording and monitoring of principal GNSS performance figures as required from ICAO regulation to support aircraft GNSS-based operations and the transition to the full implementation of RNP ( Required Navigation Performance) and PBN (Performance Based Navigation) concepts. Its main functions are: real-time performance monitoring, legal recording for aircraft post-incident investigation; post-processing performance report possible constellation faults.

The GNSS Reference Laboratory

The GNSS Reference Laboratory is a set of HW and SW tool aiming to support GNSS related application and technologies design, implementation, testing and validation. The Laboratory provides tools for test planning, receivers performance analysis, risk analysis (simulation of system failures, atmospheric events etc), emulation of operative scenarios on field.
