Brussels: Telespazio participates in the 17th European Space Conference

Telespazio, together with Leonardo, is participating in the 17th European Space Conference, coming up on 28-29 January at the Square Convention Centre in Brussels.

The event represents an important opportunity for European institutions and politicians to meet and talk to representatives of the space industry. The main theme of the 2025 edition is "Steering Forward Europe's Space Ambitions", with a focus on expanding Europe's space capabilities and strengthening its global role in an ever-changing international context.

Telespazio and Leonardo will participate in three events on the first day of the conference, 28 January:

In the first plenary session, at 9:45, Massimo Claudio Comparini, Managing Director of Leonardo’s Space Business Unit, will participate in a panel discussion on "Solving the competitiveness equation for a sovereign and secure Europe".

In the second plenary session, at 11:15, Telespazio CEO Gabriele Pieralli will participate in a panel discussion entitled "Towards a European space industry strategy".

In the third session, scheduled for 17:15, the Telespazio’s Chief Operating Officer Giuseppe Aurilio will speak in a panel discussion of "Scenarios for sustainable and autonomous European space exploration to the Moon and beyond".

In addition, Marco Folino, Managing Director and CEO of Spaceopal, a company owned by Telespazio and DLR_GfR, will also speak on 28 January, at 11:15, in a panel discussion about "Galileo: the next generation, addressing the challenges of PNT for a secure and reliable future".

On 29 January, at 12 Marco Brancati, SVP Space Business Unit Leonardo, will participate in a panel discussion entitled "Developing European capabilities and ensuring space sustainability: in orbit servicing and active debris removal".

Finally, at 3.30 in the afternoon of 28 January, the Agorà will host the awards ceremony of #T-TeC, the Open Innovation competition promoted by Leonardo and Telespazio. Now in its sixth edition, the contest offers an important opportunity for promotion of innovative ideas and projects in the space sector; 29 teams from 26 universities in 10 countries participated in this year’s competition.

This high-resolution digital model of the terrain, built using airborne laser surveys (LiDAR) and aerogravimetric data, will serve as a strategic asset for understanding the morphology of the land and will lay the foundation for future Digital Twins capable of simulating and further studying its behaviour.

U-ELCOME: Hospital Drugs Delivered by Drones Take Off in Abruzzo

The operational phase of the drone-based hospital drug delivery service officially launched today in Abruzzo. The initiative is part of the European U-ELCOME project (U-space European COMmon dEpLoyment), co-funded by the Horizon programme, and aims to foster the widespread adoption of U-space services in European airspace, enabling safe and coordinated operations alongside traditional aircraft.
