Leonardo and Telespazio at the Stati Generali della Space Economy 2025

27 October 2025

Leonardo and Telespazio are taking part in the Stati Generali della Space Economy 2025, an event promoted by the Parliamentary Intergroup for the Space Economy (IPSE) with the support of leading institutions and companies in the sector. The event will take place in Rome, Turin, and Milan from October 27 to 31.

The initiative represents a high-level forum bringing together government representatives, institutions, academia, and industry to discuss the strategies that will shape the future of the Italian and European Space Economy.

Throughout the week, representatives from Leonardo and Telespazio will participate in several working groups focused on key themes of the space economy: artificial intelligence, European policies, public-private partnerships, and industrial innovation.

  • Massimo Claudio Comparini, Managing Director of Leonardo’s Space Division, will speak in Rome and Milan, presenting the Group’s vision for the Space Economy sector.
  • Marco Brancati, SVP Technology, Innovation & Systems Architecture of Leonardo’s Space Division, and Luca Petronzio, Senior Vice President Technology and Innovation at Telespazio, will take part in the roundtable “Artificial Intelligence for the Space Economy”, scheduled in Turin on October 30, dedicated to the integration of AI into space systems and next-generation infrastructures.
  • Vittorio Colella Albino, Vice President Legal and Corporate Affairs at Telespazio, will speak in Milan on October 31 during the session “The Italian Law on the Space Economy (Law No. 89 of June 13, 2025)”, focused on analyzing the main provisions of the legislation and the implementing decrees designed to translate its principles into concrete operational tools.
  • Nicola Pizzolorusso, Vice President Strategic Planning, Scenarios and New Initiatives at Telespazio, will participate in Milan on October 31 in the panel “Opportunities for Non-Space Companies and Public-Private Partnerships in the Space Economy”, coordinated by PwC, dedicated to dialogue between institutions, industry, and companies from other economic sectors.
  • Maria Cristina Lupi, Head of Product Policy & Open Innovation at Telespazio, will speak in Milan on October 31 during the panel “Startups and Innovative Space Microenterprises”, which will address the challenges and opportunities for Italian startups called upon to harness creativity and innovation within the Italian ecosystem.
  • Cristina Valente, Head of ESA/ASI Market at Telespazio, will take part in Milan on October 31 in the panel “Investments and Financing: The Opportunity of the Space Economy”, which will explore the role of finance and specialized investment in the Space Economy.

Space Economy today represents an extraordinary opportunity for non-space companies as well. Public-private partnerships (PPPs), in particular, play a key role in this process by enabling risk and investment sharing and supporting the creation of space infrastructures upon which private companies can build new business models. This approach allows enterprises from non-space sectors to tap into the potential of space data and technologies, developing innovative applications and services with a direct impact on the broader economy.

Through its participation, Leonardo reaffirms its commitment to advancing the Italian and European Space Economy and to promoting an open, competitive, and sustainable space ecosystem capable of generating value. The company continues to leverage its expertise, infrastructure, and industrial vision to foster public-private collaboration, technological innovation, and the enhancement of human capital.
