On 4 June, Pescara hosted "Space Next – New Routes for Your Future", an event promoted by Associazione Italiacamp to mark the conclusion of Space Camp – From School Desks to the Stars.
Space Camp is a free educational project, selected and supported by Fondo per la Repubblica Digitale – Impresa sociale, aimed at upper secondary schools in the Abruzzo Region. It was developed by Associazione Italiacamp ETS together with Telespazio of the Leonardo Group, Innovalley and the "Alessandro Volta" institute in Pescara, the "Luigi di Savoia" institute in Chieti and the "Ettore Majorana" institute in Avezzano, with the scientific contribution of the British Interplanetary Society.
Thanks to the project, 175 students from the third, fourth and fifth years spent months of technical and experiential learning, strengthening their STEM and soft skills and developing a more informed understanding of careers in the space and aerospace sectors. They also took part in two "missions" that integrated neuroscience with astronautics: the study of artificial satellite communication systems and the construction of a human spaceflight simulator. The 19 highest-achieving students were selected for the Honours Programme, an intensive training course at the Fucino Space Centre in direct contact with Telespazio experts.
