The award ceremony for the winners of the fifth edition of #T-TeC, Telespazio Technology contest, was held in Brussels on 23 January 2024. This Open Innovation competition organised by Leonardo and Telespazio is dedicated to young STEM students from universities all over the world and aims to promote innovation in the space sector.

The Winners

2023 was a #T-TeC - Telespazio Technology Contest edition with record numbers, with 24 different proposals submitted by teams made up of over 100 participants from 24 universities in 10 countries worldwide. Winners receive a cash prize and the opportunity to transform their ideas into an actual start-up, attending accelerator and pre-incubator programmes.

The two 2023 competition categories, Idea and Prototype, were dedicated to projects in different stages of development; participants were able to test their abilities and skills in six different macro-topics related to sustainability in Space and on Earth. The macro-topics represent all the space competences of the Leonardo Group, ranging from geoinformation services, space exploration, Space Domain Awareness and circular economy in Space to services in orbit.

Prototype

  • 1st Place - ESTESIA EUR 10,000 + Acceleration path with Seraphim Space Accelerator + Sustainability Mention.
  • 2nd Place - IDRA EUR 6,000 + Pre-incubation pathway offered by Lazio Innova
  • 3rd Prize - Hydrogen Peroxide Propulsion for Satellites EUR 4,000 + Pre-incubation pathway offered by Lazio Innova + Sustainability Mention.

Idea

  • 1st Place - DELUNERY EUR 5,000 + Pre-incubation pathway offered by Lazio Innova

  • SunCubes Prototype
