#4: "Space for the Future", 60 years of Telespazio

For the first “National Space Day”, Telespazio streamed a special T-Talk dedicated to the company’s 60th anniversary.

The special T-Talk “Space to the future: 60 years of Telespazio” was streamed at 9:00 pm on Thursday, 16 December, and retraced the main steps of Telespazio's history, from the first pioneering experiments in satellite broadcasting of the early 1960s to the challenges that await us in the years to come, such as the development of in-orbit and space debris services, through to future Lunar communication, navigation and positioning services.

Participants in the T-Talk were Luigi Pasquali, CEO of Telespazio, Giovanni Caprara, journalist and university lecturer specialised in the history of Space, and Mauro Canali, Rai Storia consultant and former Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Camerino.

“Space to the future: 60 years of Telespazio” was co-presented by science journalist Letizia Davoli and journalist Emilio Cozzi, author, among other things, of the book “Space to the future”, dedicated precisely to Telespazio’s 60th anniversary.

The T-Talks fall within the series of initiatives organised by Telespazio to celebrate its 60 years in business. The company was established in 1961, just 4 years after the launch of the Sputnik and a few months after the orbital flight by Yuri Gagarin, the first man in Space. Today, Telespazio - one of the main operators in the Space services sector - looks to the future with the same pioneering spirit as in the early years, and is ready to take on the future challenges of the Space adventure.
