#6 “Space and Science Fiction: when fiction imagines reality”

T-TALK, the Telespazio series of discussions on technological innovation and space, returned live to the company’s digital channels on the 5th of October.

The focus of the new “Space and Science Fiction: when fiction imagines reality” episode is the fascinating relationship between two very different worlds that often seem destined to collide. From 2001: A Space Odyssey and Interstellar, to Alien and Dune, how much truth is there in these films that have ignited the imagination of millions of fans the world over?

Presenter Emilio Cozzi talked about it with some very special guests: astrophysicist and university Professor, Amedeo Balbi, astrophysicist and science reporter, Luca Perri, and author and astrophysicist, Licia Troisi.

The episode was live streamed via the company’s digital channels (TwitterLinkedInYouTube) and is now available here.

Launched in 2021, the year that Telespazio celebrated its sixty-sixth anniversary, the T-TALK series has been created to stimulate discussion on the future of the space sector and beyond. Previous episodes have covered a range of topics, from Space for Citizens, right the way through to space exploration and the proliferation of space debris. Two special episodes have also been dedicated to the company’s history, from 1961 until the present day, and the third Telespazio Technology Contest (#T-TeC). All of the previous episodes are available on the Telespazio Youtube channel.
