In recent years, attention to environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects has progressively increased in all phases of collaboration with suppliers: from the application to become a supplier, to the pre-qualification and qualification stages for access to the vendor register, from selection criteria to contractual Terms and Conditions, up to verification audits and development plans. To achieve the growth envisaged in the Industrial Plan, a key prerequisite is the excellence of the supply chain, which must be able not only to ensure adequate operational performance, but also to address the complexity of new market challenges, requiring financial strength, skills and speed of adaptation.
EcoVadis
Starting from 2023, Telespazio has progressively replaced its proprietary LEADS evaluation model with the EcoVadis rating, adopted as the reference for assessing the sustainability of the AD&S supply chain within the sector initiative promoted by IAEG.
Through the EcoVadis platform, which in 2024 saw a significant expansion in the participation of Leonardo Group suppliers (for a total of over 1,100 companies), it has been possible to further strengthen the assessment process, enabling continuous evaluation of suppliers and their sustainability performance. This has made it possible, in the case of negative evaluations, to promptly identify critical areas and activate corrective actions and improvement processes.
