Fucino Space Centre welcomes the visit of the European Commission's DG Defence Industry and Space Timo Pesonen

Last January 26, 2024, Fucino Space Center welcomed the visit of European Commission's Director General Defense Industry and Space Timo Pesonen and a delegation from the European Commission, the Italian Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Italian Space Agency.

During the visit, the guests had the opportunity to visit the Fucino Space Center, including the Galileo Control Center, which houses one of the two control rooms of the European constellation Galileo, the control room of the COSMO-SkyMed constellation as well as the Telespazio Museum.  

The meeting was an opportunity for discussion between industry and European and Italian institutions, with both sides emphasizing the importance and great achievements of the many ongoing collaborations and projects. 

In addition to Timo Pesonen, on behalf of the European Commission Delegation, Christoph Kautz, Director for Satellite Navigation and Earth Observation, and Mauro Facchini, Head of Unit for Earth Observation of the European Commission, participated.

The event was attended by Gen. C.A. Franco Federici, military adviser to the Prime Minister's Office, Luca Vincenzo Maria Salamone, director general of Italian Space Agency (ASI), Danilo Rubini, Head of International Relations and Space Diplomacy Department of ASI, Amedeo Teti, Head of the Enterprise Policy Department of MIMIT, Antonio Bartoloni of MIMIT, Mauro Piermaria, from the Space and Space Policy Office of the Prime Minister's Office; and Gen. C.A. Piero Burla of DIS.
