e-GEOS: Board of Directors appoints Cristina Sgubin as Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors of e-GEOS, a joint venture between Telespazio (80%) and the Italian Space Agency (20%), has unanimously appointed Attorney Cristina Sgubin as Chief Executive Officer of the company. Sgubin will also be responsible for Telespazio’s Geo Information Line of Business.

An expert in corporate law, corporate governance and regulatory affairs, Cristina Sgubin has served as Telespazio’s General Secretary since 2021, with responsibility for legal and corporate affairs, compliance, security and anti-corruption. She currently serves on the Boards of Directors of ENI, SACE, Biesse and Xenia.

After earning a degree in Law from the University of Rome Tor Vergata and a Second-Level Master’s Degree in “Law and Management of Public Services” from LUMSA University in Rome, Sgubin practised law for many years at leading Italian and international law firms before pursuing a management career.

She served as General Counsel of Italo – Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori S.p.A. She subsequently joined Leonardo, where she held the positions of Head of Regulatory Affairs and, later, Chief of Staff to the Chief Executive Officer. She has also served on the Boards of ISPRA (Italian National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research) and Vianini S.p.A.

Carmen Milena Antonella Lerario is thanked for her valuable contribution. She will take up a new position within Leonardo’s Space Division.

Connectivity: results of the satellite trial in Lombardy presented in Milan

Connecting entire villages to the national network through an infrastructure that combines satellite, fiber and wireless connections, in order to bring quality digital services even to the hardest-to-reach areas. This is the goal of the trial carried out in Lombardy, whose preliminary results were presented at the Milan office of the Department for Digital Transformation. Telespazio took part in the initiative by developing a proprietary backhauling solution that aggregates multiple satellite links.
