e-GEOS shareholders appoint the company’s new BoD

The virtually all-female Board of Directors confirms Paolo Minciacchi as CEO and appoints Maria Fabrizia Buongiorno as Chairperson

The Shareholders’ Meeting of e-GEOS, was held on the 8th of June to appoint the members of the Board of Directors for the 2021-2023 three-year period.

The new BoD is made up of Ms Maria Fabrizia Buongiorno (Chairman), Eng. Sabrina Corpino, Ms Letizia Colucci, Mr Giuseppe Aurilio and Eng. Paolo Minciacchi.

The e-GEOS BoD meeting, held after the Shareholders’ Meeting, confirmed Paolo Minciacchi as CEO of the company and appointed Maria Fabrizia Buongiorno as its new Chairperson.

At the Shareholders’ Meeting, the Italian Space Agency and Telespazio reiterated their commitment to supporting the growth of e-GEOS as national champion in both the Space Economy Strategic Plan and in the Earth observation programmes specified in the Italian Recovery and Resilience Plan, while also pursuing the company’s international development in the field of geoinformation services.

Telespazio Ibérica, the Spanish subsidiary of Telespazio (a Leonardo Group company), has been awarded the €20 million contract to develop the Canary Islands satellite constellation, the first Earth observation system created by a Spanish autonomous community. The company will lead the project, build the ground segment, and manage the constellation.
