e-GEOS presents CLEOS, the geo-information revolution

23 September 2020

A digital marketplace that makes use of innovative technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to revolutionise the traditional approach to geo-information and to focus on the customer.

This is the objective of CLEOS, the new all-in-one platform of e-GEOS, a Telespazio (80%)/ASI (20%) company, which allows large, medium and small enterprises, as well as start-ups, to quickly access the whole company offer: from applicative platforms up to the data lake consisting in the COSMO-SkyMed (and, soon, COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation) data and in third-party Earth Observation and other data.

The platform has been officially launched on September 23rd during a digital event attended by key players in the geo-information and in the international space industry.

“The increasing availability of high-resolution data provided by large constellations such as COSMO-SkyMed, the data coming from systematic acquisition missions such as Copernicus Sentinels, air- and drone-acquired data, as well as non-EO integrated data and IoT for geospatial solutions, require large computing capabilities. To exploit this true 'new oil', CLEOS is the right solution to put together, thanks to complex Artificial Intelligence algorithms, large amounts of multi-sensor data, thus favouring the development of downstream approach applications.”

Paolo Minciacchi, CEO of e-GEOS and Head of the Geo-information LOB of Telespazio.

The Cloud technology on which CLEOS is based, equipped with a user-friendly interface taking inspiration from B2C digital marketplaces, allows users quick, worldwide, 24/7 access to the platform.

Moreover, thanks to its customer-centered approach and to the innovative features introduced, CLEOS allows easy and quick development of new applications and services in the geo-information field.

Artificial Intelligence, in particular, guides the user through the whole life cycle of the applications, creating the ideal environment to develop and test new services, while machine-to-machine integration with the main Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms simplifies information exchange with all the structures and applications in use.

A key strength of CLEOS is represented by the availability of the radar data coming from the COSMO-SkyMed constellation of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and of the Italian Ministry of Defence, the result and demonstration of the best capabilities of the Italian space industry, namely Leonardo and its joint ventures, Thales Alenia Space and Telespazio.

Leonardo, through e-GEOS, develops and makes available innovative solutions to cope with the growing demand for integrated data and complex analyses, consolidating the company role as one of the international leading players in the geo-information field.

E-GEOS is the worldwide exclusive distributor for the data of COSMO-SkyMed and COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation.
