Telespazio at the professional cinema days in Sorrento

Sorrento  25 November 2016

From November 28 to December 1 Telespazio participates in the Professional Cinema Days in Sorrento with its MART (Multimedia Advanced Resolution Technology) Cinema platform for the satellite transmission of digital cinema content.

At the event in Sorrento, Telespazio will present the latest technological upgrade to the MART Cinema Network, which has resulted in a significant increase in performance. In particular, it received an increase in dedicated bandwidth capacity, the expansion of geographical coverage (Europe and North Africa) and the ability to manage Digital Cinema Packages (DCP) even in adverse weather conditions.

Moreover, during the year, the number of theatre operators (cinema and multiplex) using the MART Cinema platform has increased to 700 by January 2017.

Worth noting is the agreement with the UCI Cinema circuit (47 multiplexes in Italy), which Telespazio will also provide with Internet access in the theatre foyers through its Intenet satellite platform.

The integrity of digital content (movies and trailers) and the protection against the risk of counterfeiting and piracy are ensured by the two-way technology and the digital keys (Key Delivery Message KDM) for screening in cinemas.

The implementation and management of the platform sees the collaboration of Telespazio (prime contractor) and CEDAS (Consulting, Data Processing, Automation and Services), IT consulting company in the film industry.
