On Tuesday 24 November, a workshop entitled “Posizionamento Satellitare: aspetti di safety e security” (Satellite positioning: safety and security aspects) will be held in the Tirreno room of the Lazio regional authority premises in Rome. The event is being organised by the AICT (the Italian Association for Information and Communication Technology) in collaboration with Telespazio.

The workshop will examine the benefits of the EGNOS and Galileo satellite navigation systems and the opportunities they offer to improve safety and save lives in the transport sector. In particular, the intention is to enhance performance and introduce new services for satellite radio-localisation systems, with the aim of establishing safety and security as additional requirements to stand alongside the accuracy of the actual positioning.
