Telespazio, a Finmeccanica/Thales company, is to take part in the International Broadcasting Conference 2009 (IBC), Europe’s leading event for the television and radio broadcasting market, to be held at the RAI Congress Centre in Amsterdam from 11 to 15 September. New technological solutions dedicated to the creation, management and distribution of radio and TV content will be presented for the first time at the exhibition.

Telespazio will present its offer of radio, television and multimedia services for the international broadcasters’ market in the IBC exhibition area (Stand C88, Hall 4). Thanks to the experience it has gained in more than 40 years of activity and its growing presence worldwide, the company can offer its clients tailored broadcasting and satellite broadband solutions.

In particular, Telespazio will present XBM (Transponder Backup Manager), a system patented by the company for the automatic switching of traffic between two broadcasting systems installed in different locations. The system can offer levels of service reliability that cannot usually be attained with traditional manual systems. The solution was developed following a request from SKY Italia, Italy’s main pay-TV player, to manage traffic at the new teleports – built by Telespazio – in Rome and Santa Giulia, Milan.

At the IBC, Telespazio will also present a new DVB Digital Platform dedicated to radio, TV and multimedia broadcasting in eastern European countries. The new platform will allow the company to extend its offer with a reliable and competitive service for a new and constantly growing market.
