Telespazio to exhibit at IDEX 2009 in Abu Dhabi from 22 to 26 February

Telespazio, a Finmeccanica/Thales company,
is to exhibit at IDEX 2009, the International
Defence Exhibition and Conference, in Abu
Dhabi from 22 to 26 February. From the Finmeccanica
group stand, Telespazio will present its
activities in the field of earth observation,
particularly the products of the COSMO-SkyMed
satellite system.

COSMO-SkyMed is a four
radar satellites constellation for earth
observation, promoted by Italian Space Agency
and Italian Ministry of Defence, which is
able to collect imagery under any weather
condition and during day and night with
very short revisiting time. The dual-use
programme was conceived to meet civil (environment
and civil protection) and defence (surveillance)
objectives. Telespazio is responsible for
the ground segment and satellite operations.
e-GEOS, a Telespazio and ASI company, is
responsible for COSMO-SkyMed commercialization
worldwide.
Telespazio will be attending IDEX
2009 with other Finmeccanica group companies:
Agusta Westland, Alenia Aeronautica, Alenia
Aermacchi, Elsag Datamat, OTO Melara, SELEX
Communications, SELEX GALILEO, SELEX Sistemi
Integrati, Thales Alenia Space and DRS.
