Province of Matera and Telespazio organise conference "The Satellite Solution and the Digital Divide"

A conference entitled "The satellite
solution and the digital divide”
organised by the Province of Matera and
Telespazio is to be held on Thursday 3 July
in Matera.
The conference provides an opportunity to explain the details of
the project for a public satellite broadband service, supported by
a number of municipalities in the Province of Matera. The initiative
has been made possible by funding from the provincial local authority
via the agreement with Consip, the Italian agency for public
information services owned by the finance and economy Ministry.

Thanks to the agreement signed with Consip, Telespazio can provide Italian local authorities and
public administration with satellite broadband data transmission services. This is a concrete
and immediate response to the need for telecommunications services all over Italy, which bridges
the digital divide for that part of the country that still does not have access to
connectivity services such as high-speed internet.
