Telespazio Brasil: contract with Petrobras to detect oil spills using COSMO-SkyMed satellites

Telespazio Brasil signed a contract with Petrobras to monitor the oil company's activities in the Campos basin utilising the COSMO-SkyMed satellites constellation. The agreement aims to detect any oil spills from the exploration and production activities carried out by the Brazilian company in the region.

Italian Space Agency's PRISMA satellite successfully launched

Today, at 02:50 (CET), the Italian Space Agency's PRISMA satellite was launched from the Kourou European Space Base in French Guiana. The first signal was received from the satellite at 04:49, by Telespazio's Fucino Space Centre. In the next stage the satellite will be put into orbit and tested.

Coming up - The launch of the ASI's PRISMA mission. The Telespazio's role

We are getting closer to the launch of the Italian Space Agency's PRISMA mission. The satellite will lift off from the European spaceport of Kourou (French Guiana) the night between 8 and 9 March, aboard a VEGA rocket. Telespazio set up the Ground Segment and will manage the LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase) and in-orbit test activities.
