Love Planet Earth 2008
The effects of global warming are being felt, most notably in the coldest regions on Earth. Alaska, Siberia and Antarctica are the first areas to show the visible signs of our planet’s suffering. The International Polar Year 2008 is the most important one since scientists began monitoring these highly fragile and vital ecosystems. The Arctic and Antarctic regions play a key role in regulating the Planet’s temperatures and weather systems. Understanding this mechanism is the great challenge of science, which urgently needs continuous, global and highly detailed imagery data. Telespazio’s satellite images help to write history and to open a window to our future.
