AGILE
AGILE is one of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) small scientific missions that is based on a MITA platform with detectors designed to work in equatorial low earth orbit. AGILE’s detectors are made by a team of Italian scientists, the exploitation is open to the international scientific community.
It’s a gamma ray and hard x-ray observatory to survey the celestial sphere, serving to understand some astrophysics phenomena like explosions, compact stars, massive black holes and gamma-rays energetic bursts.

On 23 April 2007 the AGILE satellite was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota (India). During its two years of mission lifetime, the satellite will perform a complete sky survey by means of a proper observation campaign strategy.
The mission will contribute to the study of cosmic sources and other highly important scientific phenomena.
