Telespazio takes part in Satellite 2018

Telespazio is taking part in Satellite 2018, the 37th edition of the Conference and Exhibition dedicated to the world of communications and satellite services, which will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington DC, from March 12 to 15.


Telespazio will be present at the show with Thales Alenia Space. The two companies, which form the Space Alliance between Leonardo and Thales, share a booth where they will present their main activities in the field of space services and systems.


In Washington, Telespazio will demonstrate its activities in the satellite operations and communications sector, and in the field of geo-information.


In particular, for the satellite operations run through a network of owned space centres and teleports, the company manages launch, orbit, and spacecraft testing services, as well as the operational life of satellites. For over 50 years, Telespazio has been providing space agencies and international operators with services that cover all phases of space missions.


Telespazio’s Fucino Space Centre, one of the most important teleports in the world for civilian use, was awarded in 2017 second place as Top Teleport Operator of the World Teleport Association (WTA). The Space Centre hosts 170 operative antennas with 22 control rooms, 5 of which are manned 24/7. Fucino hosts the Control Centre of the COSMO-SkyMed Earth observation satellite constellation and one of the Control Centres (GCC) that manage the European Galileo satellite positioning and navigation system.

at 3.15 p.m. Alessandro Caranci, Head of the Line of Business Satellite Communications of Telespazio will speak at the panel The Satellite of Things: Where Teleports Play in IoT;


March 15 at 11.15 a.m. Massimo Claudio Comparini, Head of the Line of Business Geo Information of Telespazio and CEO of e-GEOS (Telespazio/ASI), will speak at the panel Imagery and Sensing for Industry: The Incredible, Insatiable Demand for Environmental Data.
